Hello everyone.. I've got a nitrous setup question ... it involves a 4 cylinder mustang, not a probe, but i was told that some probes came with the same exact engine as this mustang so i figured i could ask the probe forum :)... The vehicle in question is a 1993 2.3L auto mustang LX, Bone stock. The nitrous system in question is the edelbrock performer carb plate kit. This is a wet plate system. 50 to 100 hp adjustable. the modifications to the kit & car are as follows.. 1. fogger nozzle for use on the intake tube. (discard carb plate) 2. 190lph fuel pump already installed in the tank. 3. NOS purge kit. 4. colder spark plugs, NGK.. questions.. 1. Is the jetting combination for a 50 shot on a v8 the same as the jetting for a 50 shot on a 4 cylinder? 2. Should i use the fuel pressure riser device that comes with most dry kits to raise the fuel pressure even higher, or is the added fuel from the fogger nozzle/solenoid enough for this level of nitrous (50 hp)? 3. How much timing should i pull out? or should i leave it at stock timing..? (similar dry kits like the ZEX do not require any timing adjustments at the 50 Hp level using 92 octane pump gas) 4. finally, if the jetting should be changed for use with the 4 cylinder engine, what jetting should i use ? nitrous/fuel.. or, should i use the jetting that edelbrock specifies for a v8 at the 50 hp level... ? regards to all !!! 1) This is probably not the best place to be asking since we deal with 2.0 Probes and there are PLENTY of Ford/Mustang Forums out there. i.e. http://www.stangnet.com/ 2) The Probe never had a 2.3L engine. The 89-92 models had a 2.2L and 93-97 had 2.5, but this is a 2.0 forum. 3) If you want some info about NOS, the best place I know to point you that's Probe related is a walkthrough for a NOS install on a PGT 2.5: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/5335/nos.htm or try http://www.probetalk.com and read in the N20 Technical Section.
