Hi Anyone know how the factory trailer LT/Stop & RT/Stop works? I have a problem with the trailer lights only. The truck lights work fine. The problem is when you LT signal it flashes fast when you do RT signal it flashes normal and when you put on the brakes the Right Light only comes on and it stays on for a several minutes (5 to 10 minutes). All this happens whether I have a trailer hooked up or I am testing with a DVM. There must be relays for this because the there is a single fuse which when pulled kills the stop and turn on the trailer only and the truck lights are acting normally. So far I have traced it back to where the trailer connection hooks to the frame wiring harness up next to the spare tire. I can guess the harness goes to the main fuse block under the hood which has many relays in it however I have not been able to find out if any of these control the trailer lights or if they are controlled in some other way. you probably just need to clean the plugs. it happened on my old truck and that worked fine after i cleaned them.
