Instructions for removing the lock cylinder are to be found in both the Chilton's and Hayne's manuals for all Fords. It isn't difficult, although you may have to take the shroud off the steering column because of the damage to the lock itself. The good news is that the actual ignition switch will be fine, to it is only the lock cylinder that will need changing. I'm not sure if you can buy the ignition cylinder by itself. If not, changing the ones in the door so that you only need one key is not difficult either. The procedure is also outlined in the two manuals. Good luck. >

i have a 91 and its pretty easy to do im pretty sure you need the old key to remove the broken cylinder. all you have to do to get to it though is remove the plastic cover on the steering column, its just a couple of screws on the bottom of the cover. hope it helps. Dave
