Hi guys (and gals) I'm new, but I need some info. I'm wondering if a 2wd transmission will fit in a 4wd?? Can I just remove the tail piece and connect to the transfer case? This is the Mazda M50D 5-Speed O/D The numbers off the 2wd unit are: F17A-PB-A296006 The 4wd unit numbers are: F17A-RC-A417650 Would this swap work? Or are the output shafts different lengths? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Ken, Michael T here, I don't think they will swap but I have to research this tomorrow and will get back to you. For the life of me Ken I can't find any way that those transmissions will swap, that being said I will try 1 more avenue on Friday and will get back to you. best wishes for Thanksgiving. Michael T
