I need to remove the factory installed car stereo from my 1996 Contour. Can anybody tell me how to do that?

My name is Gregory, and I was working in a Ford Service Deptment in Louisiana. You can used a cloth hanger or some stiff wire. Next thing is a bent the cloth hanger or wire to the shape of a U. Then slide the U shape wire in the two holes on the side of the radio. Then push or pull, the U shape wire, to the left or the right, and you shall be able to pull the radio out. gjthomas50

Gregory,<br>Thanks for your response to my query. I found out later that I could use "DIN removal tools" to perform the operation. I got 'em at a local car stereo store for two dollars. They look almost exactly like you describe only they have little notches on the ends that snap into place when you stick them in the little holes at each of the four corners of the front cover plate. I haven't gotten around to trying them out yet, but I am sure this will work. I found out too that this type of factory installation is known as a "Euro-DIN" installation. Again, thanks for the help.
