Hello, My '96 Contour will run but it won't get power and thus I can't drive it. It's the 4 cylinder, 2.0 liter engine. The plugs are all firing. The wires are ok. The fuel delivery system seems to be ok, i.e. the fuel filter and fuel pump are ok. It has a new timing belt and it has been checked over and over again to see that it's not a notch off. The car was taken to a dealership and the computer couldn't find anything wrong. Can anybody help me out? Thanks, Bob

Check the mass airflow sensor. It will only give a code if it is completly dead and the car can run long enough to set it. If the car will start, but run like it is out of time AND/OR is blowing out white smoke, stumbles severly when you start to increase throttle AND/OR seems like it's not firing on all cylinders, then I would say it's the MAF(based on the symptoms you're providing). In case you don't know, the MAF is the alloy piece that is inline with the intake hose. It has an electrical connector on it. Some parts stores can test it if you bring it in. Al
