Hi Group,     When this Explorer is started from cold, and for the first time or two that it's accelerated, the throttle sticks a bit. When pushed a little harder, the accelerator will go down too far, too fast and the vehicle leaps forward. Passengers look at you like you're a new driver or something. It's fine after it warms up.     Can anyone suggest a fix for this?     Thanks for any help.   R. Pittenger Troy, Ohio

Teflon or silicon spray on the throttle linking area Do NOT use wd40 or anything that says penatrant! Spray on the linkage area (where it goes through the throttle body) You can remove cable and test the linkage by itself.

There is a web site www.FixYourFord.com with detailed pictures of the process to solve this problem, as discussed, however, note to be upfront, there is a fee of $9.99 for the access to these instructions, but you'll also get instructions for some other repairs that you can do yourself...like change the serpentine belt, change the thermostat, repair of the idle air controller (when your vehicle starts to stall and you have to drive with one foot on the gas and one on the brake)...
