A friend of mine overheated her V6 not once but twice when the waterpump failed and now it's running very poorly after having the pump changed. I suggested changing the plugs and leads incase they got cooked. The plugs didn't make a difference and they (husband and sons are all good mechanics) will do the leads next.Any other suggestions as to what's causing the poor performance will be appreciated. Hopefully she didn't cook the rings. Thanks in advance, Dave

it all depends on how bad the performance is, if the car is losing anykind of compression due to ring(s) fried you would have very poor performance and hard starting, poor gas milage, very rough idle, you may have warped a head also make sure that you didnt screw up the head gasket when it over heated. good luck george
