Hey folks... Just bought a Yellow zx3 and was wondering if there are any others out there! I know they didn't make too many of them. In fact, it wasn't even listed as a color option last year. Did I buy a future collector's item?! Anyway, how can I find out how many Ford made in that color? My Pac-man really turns heads... gets comments all the time!

Cheers,

Greg

I saw one yellow ZX3 on the road, and one at a dealership, but I dont know about others... I have a rainforest green one, which seems to be a more abundant color...

I am assuming that you have a 2000 Focus in "Zinc Yellow", this color came out mid year and has been renamed "Egg Yolk Yellow" for 2001 Foci.

There probably won't be a wholwe lot of them because they are too different for the average daily driver.

Hmmm, Pac-Man, I always likened the color to Pikachu, gueszs that's cause I have kids,

I have a 2001 brochure. Yellow is a standard color option on the 2001 model year. I didn't think is was offered in 2000 either?

Zinc Yellow and Egg Yolk Yellow are identical colors, they just renamed it Egg Yolk for the Focus for 2001.

All the Focus colors are called other names on other Ford cars, Ford likes to have unique names for the Focus, even if they don't want unique colors.

that might be because the focus is unique from the rest of the ford line, its a lot of value for the money.

The Egg Yolk yellow ZX3 was introduced late into the 2000 production year and is rather rare. In fact, I had the first one in Western Canada (or so the dealership said, though I have no cause to disbelieve them). Pac-man is a name for my car that I never thought of. Instead, I've dubbed mine Tweety. And you're right- this color turns heads! I have some Tweety periphenalia in the car, none of which I've had to buy for myself.

As for whether this will be just a collector's item in a few years, I hope so! The last thing we yellow ZX3 owners need is a bunch of Johnny-come-latelys cutting into our territory!

Regards

Randy

FYI: They have NOT stopped making yellow ZX3s. The color was officially introduced for the 2001 production year, though it really appeared late in the 2000 production year. I have Ford Canada's website open right now and the color selection includes what is now called (I love this) "Fun in the Sun Yellow".

I agree the autumn orange is nice, but I find it a bit subdued. Okay, anything is subdued relative to egg yolk yellow, but it looks so sharp on a ZX3! As soon as I saw it on the lot I lost my soul to it. And if they do discontinue the color, so what? It's MINE!

Cheers!

Randy
