Hello! I found a good deal (possibly) on a 2001 E150, V6. Does anyone know if there have been problems with the breaks on this model. My wife and I are looking at buying this to give us room with our 3 children,and I don't want to get a vehicle that has bad breaks. I have been researching this van, but have not been able to determine if the breaks are a real concern or not. Also are there any other concerns that I should be looking at? We really like this van, but need just a bit more information before we decide to go for it. Thanks ahead if anyone has some info!

Hi, I own a 1994 Ford Econoline E150 Luxury conversion van with a Six Cylinder engine. I have found the Six Cylinder engine has plenty of power. In the 1994 model year, the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engines got about the same fuel economy because: 6 Cylinder engines came with the 3 speed Automatic Transmission. 8 Cylinder engines came with the 4 speed overdrive Automatic Transmission. Please check if the 2001 econoline E150 V6 comes with a 4 speed overdrive Automatic Transmission. If it does, it will probably get better gas mileage than the 8 cylinder. As far as the brakes are concerned, I've found the brakes in my E150 to be very strong and troublefree. - Bill
