I had my water pump changed because my truck was leaking water from that area although it never overheated, it did smell like it was leaking water. After the change, it is still dripping water after I drive 2-3 miles.

If you don't change your green antifreeze every couple of years, corrosion could have eaten a hole in your aluminum front cover. Also, of course, there could be a bad hose. Your mechanic owes you more work, he should have checked the job better than that when he was done.
