I have a 2002 Speedometer that i want to check the calibration of. If I am right, it is reading low. How do you get that checked...does it need to be programmed. Second question. When I hit the accelerate button on the cruise control, the truck takes off like a bat out of heck....how can this be adjusted so that the truck increases speed a bit slower/easier Thanks

As far as the speedo being slow...has any part of your drive or powertrain been replaced? (Transmission rearend or tire size) This has been a common issue when folks go from street tires to mudders, or other oversized tires. I've seen write-ups on how to calculate the new spedo gear to account for new tires or different gears, but most people I know just find about how far off theirs is and live with it, while others play hit and miss with different speedo gear ratios. This is the gear at the end of the spedo cable that goes into the transmission. As far as the acceleration with the cruise control, Some have a vacuum hose from the cruise to the intake for the gain. It usually works the other way though. No vacuum - no acceleration. speeding up is odd. There is a pickup somewhere (I don't know where) that reads the speed. I had understood it was in the back of the gauge. I have 10 bucks that says the two are releated. The speed pickup in the back of the speedometer is probabbly messed up giving you false readings for both the speedometer and the cruise box. I think only someone that has experienced this same thing will know. Has there been anything changed on this vehicle? fog light added or any mods? Chris Robertson Christopher.T.Robertson@...
