I have just purchased a 1999 F 250 Super Duty XL with the 5.4 engine. I have read that the 5.4 engine was increased from 235 HP to 260 HP with the 1999 model change. Yet, my owners manual, published in 3-98 says the engine has 235 HP. The truck was manufactured in 9-98. Can anyone tell me if there is some way to look at the engine and tell what HP it is.
