Hello , out there, and Happy New Year. I'm new to this forum - seeking other ideas than my own to a problem with my '08 Super Duty. V10, 6spd DANA, 4WD. 16,000 miles. There is a rattle from the shifter cane in 2nd through 6th that starts at 1750 rpm and gets louder with more throttle load. There is an associated vibration detectable in the steering wheel and clutch pedal, and the vehicle itself. All symptoms disappear under zero-load conditions. I'm a retired mechanic, amd have been inside more than a few manual gearboxes, and this to me sounds (feels) like a failing output shaft bearing. Vehicle is under warranty, but the dealer wants to put shift-tower parts in it to start and go from there, which I think is like giving a tranfusion to someone with low blood pressure when they have an internal aneurysm. Any body else experience a problem like this? Thanks!
