i was removing the exhaust stud from the manifold downpipe and broke both of them but there looks to be another part there with hex socket. how do i remove them safely without busting them any more than they are without createing more problems. chris

My recommendation would be to use some good lubrication like liquid wrench and let it penetrate the material for 15-30 mins. and try drilling a small hole in the center of each broken stud and use an easy out tool to try and remove. Note: use a center punch to make a drill starting point in the center of each stud and drill very slowly. If that does not work you may have to drill out studs completely and re-tap the holes.  I used to build military defense rockets and missiles and had to remove broken stainless fasteners the same way. would pbblaster work im using stud removeal tool its gettin a good grip on it but i need some more extentions to my wrench to get em out. chris
