Hi, I'm Steve and I'm on my third Big Bronco. I have rebuilt an '80 with 4" lift, 36's, 4:56 gears, shift kit, exhaust, back in the late 80's when I was in the Navy. I then owned an 89 and kept it fairly stock except for 32's, intake, exhaust, basic stuff. I'm now back into it again and decided to start an upgrade history for comparison and discussion. So far I've put a 2 1/2 in cat back 2 into 1 exhaust with a type 40 flow master. More concerned with breathability than sound. In the process they determined that my second cat was clogged so they removed it. Apparently EPA says this is permissible if either cat is defective. That made a big difference. I then went with a KN air filter which was ok but decided to jump to a FIPK. Again, a significant noticeable seat in the pants change. Next is a Carne Cams Fireball HI6s with a PS91 coil, plug wires, cap, rotor, etc. Tackling that project today. I called Crane and they gave me the go ahead to mount the ignition under the hood as long as I don't enter a stream bed :). I have the 355 gears with limited slip. I'm not going with a lift kit. I've done two already and this will be a light off road vehicle but mainly a street machine. I plan on replacing the E4OD in a few months with a performance reman, and eventually will drop a new long block in(123k) When I get to that point I'll be working with Edelbrock for the cam, intake and exhaust manifold, and timing. I also just put in Warn premium hubs and found that my wheel bearings needed re torqueing. That really tightened up the steering in the front end. This truck is paid for and is a project. Just wanted to post this so interested parties could compare notes. Let me know what you think. She's white with a red interior. I call it blood red. :) I've done a lot of research and have also owned three Jeeps, two cj- 7's (82 and 86)and a wrangler. The wrangler was just too small for me. Although the 4.0L HO motor would be great in a a CJ7. Let's not foreget the tint and Pioneer sound system !!! Steve
