After installing a rebuilt motor in my bird, i have put brand new external parts on it. From intake to oil pan. I just bought a new radiator, the old one blew a hole in ti when the new motor was installed. All new hoses are new. The thermostat was new, it has been sitting for a month or 2 with no radiator. Put new rad in it and filled it up with a 70/30 mix. Start driving around and it overheats. At idle it is ok. No pinging or anything, but it will jerk some times. I am hopeing it is only a bad thermostat, but with Fords anything is possible. If anyone has had a similiar problem or any ideas please let me know.

I am trying to figure out if my tbird has a 7.5 or 8.8 rearend. Is there any way of telling by just looking at the rearend. The indent tags have been broke off. It is a 88 tbird with a 5.0. Any help would be great. Josh bigdakotanut

You probably hae an 8.8. Most mustangs and thunderbirds with 5.0's have them. From what I can see in Haynes it should the 8.8. I have a 93 with a 5.0 and it has a 8.8 independent rear suspension. -- In fordthunderbirdperformance@yahoogroups.com, josh smith

I have have had a problem with my alternator charging way too much. It maxes out on my alt gauge and all my lights and everything electric goes really bright! My radio turns off too, but the car runs normal. Does anyone know what is happening to my car? I have a '94 V8 with little upgrades done to it. Someone please help. RR You probably hae an 8.8.
