I've run with higher octane gas but my car still detonates under load unless I force it to downshift (automatic). Is it possible that my timing has gone out? If so, how do I correct it? What else would cause this? BW

There is only one bolt holding your distributer in place. check it and make sure it didn't come loose. If it did, turn it counter clockwise to retard it and the tighten it down. See if a friend has a timing light to help you get it timed correctly. good luck bill 95 PSE just baught a turbo, not installed yet. may need help in the future.
