hey gang, We have a '01 wagon SE w/ZETEC engine and the A/C is not working.. the dealer (after 3 days) said that the wiring harness was different from their book and worked with Ford engineers on the issue... come to find out we are "missing" a controller for the actuator.. anyone else out there had this happen? very frustrating having to wait over the 4th as well... (purchased 2/01)

I'm not a big fan of AC in general. I have a 2000 ZX3 and the AC cuts out when you get into 4000-5000 RPM range. Ford says that's the way the AC was designed, but I never know whether or not to believe those morons. Plus, when I have the AC on, the horsepower loss kills performance. I just usually roll the windows down, but it's been 105 degrees here in Cali and I've been forced to use the AC. Basicly, I find the AC useless in my car.

The power drain from the AC seems huge. I shut it off when taking off from a start or any other time that acceleration is wanted, run it only when cruising. With it on, the car is embarrassingly slow.

I though my '93 Escort was exceptionally sluggish with the AC on, but the Focus takes the cake.
