Hey all whats up i have been a member on this site since i got my 97 probe in aug and wanted to thank all of u for the help and info i have gotten from u all but i just wanted to let u no what it cost for all of u who got a/c in your cars I just got mine back on wednsday afternoon form the local ford dealer here in pa and the total bill to have the a/c compressor replaced was about 1500 bucks The only place they could find one was thru ford them selves and i was lucky mine is still under the fact warranty and it didnt cost me one pennie so it work out for the good but the bad side is for all of u who have a/c and hopefully ull never have any probs but if u do look out. the compressor is a delaer item only since i no advance cant get one and neither can auto zone. well i hope this info will help some one out some time in the future but till then have fun seth 97 probe gt tires and rims kn air filter one hell of a system

The A/c compressor is availiable for $400 on http://www.fordprobeparts.com ; just thought I'd throw that in. MULTI 94PSE TXPOC

Thanks for the info Seth. My AC compressor also finally went out with 104k miles on the car now and I recently checked at a local AC shop on the cost for removal & replacement.  They had the AC compressor in stock and I was quoted $374 for the part, labor & refill of the refrigerant.  I'll end up getting a used compressor and change it out myself. But I just wanted you to know that you don't have to believe those silly Ford dealers when they say it will cost $1500 to fix and the compressors are more readily available than they want you to know.        -Lino Sacman, SCPOC       '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd
