Okay, here's my question. I have a 67 coupe, factory AC and auto, all the numbers match, runs great, looks great, a bit of rust just starting in a few small spots. But it is tan (okay, desert sand or something), tan! :( I want to paint it shiny black, have blue flames, and put flashy rims on it (and some chrome in the two barrel engine, probably ain't needing any more get up than it has). Is that a mortal or a venial sin? It won't be "original" or "classic" anymore. Does that stuff matter? Was Ford inspired by God so I gotta keep it as is? I wanna. Black, vroom, vroom, cool multi shaded blue flames...wild rims gleaming... VrooOOOOooom. Is that uncool and ugly to do? Look forward to your advice, Stephen Durham, NC

Hey Art, If it were my mustang I would keep it original. Of course that is an opinion of a 59 year old who is in the process of restoring a 65 coupe basket case. I will look a lot harder before I buy another one. This one is sold as soon as I finish it and I think I have found a one owner that I can get. If I do another one I will keep it along with my 62 short-bed step-side chevy truck. Cary Arwood

My opinion is build the car you want, however, realize this, the car you want is RARELY what the next guy wants, however a stock Mustang is very easily sold. As for how yours is optioned, it probably will never be a high dollar car, but then again, if everyone chops them up, a stock one will be rare. Sort of on the fence, but again, if you build it for you, do what you want, if you want to sell it easily and for good money later, keep it stock - Ross
