I've used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil since the 6K mile mark; synths have been shown to reduce friction over conventional motor oil. I have a K&N replacement filter; can't say I see super jump in power, but they say it does. I have Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires; very happy with them, and they were free. Don't know about chipping.
