The air intake silencer is located under your air
box, bolted to the underside of the fender. If you
take out your air filter and reach into the hole
underneath, the bent piece of tubing that you feel is the
intake silencer. To get to it, you need to pull your
front passenger side wheel off and remove the splash
guard. You will then see the intake silencer. It is held
to the fender by three bolts. Just remove these and
the silencer will come right off. Be sure to replace
the bolts because they hold the airbox in place. You
will get maybe 2hp out of this and slightly increased
throttle response. Your engine will also sound a little
louder. It's not a big gain, but it doesn't cost anything
to do, so why not?

As for the wire under the
dash, whoever told you that is either a liar or they
don't know what they're talking about. The ONLY known
way to get rid of the speed limiter is with a chip.
There have been some experiments with removing pins
from the computer's wiring harness over on tccoa.com,
but none have worked thus far.

Hope this
helps,

Kenny
