I won't comment on best because I don't have one. Akimoto & Weapon R both make intakes $150-200. Iceman was supposed to make one, but I don't know if they've started selling them yet. Summit Racing carries all 3 lines, so you can check w/ them (800) 962-9094, www.summitracing.com. Try www.corksport.com too. Superchips will reprogram your computer if you send it in $200+. I think Venom makes a module that mounts inline with the mass air flow sensor too. DJM On Tue, 4 Apr 2000 15:20:03 EDT

It doesn't have to be heat resistant. Think about how fast the air is moving through it while you are at WOT. While air is flowing through it, it doesn't have enough time to heat up. So it does its job just fine. The only thing "low quality" about it is the lack of a real mounting bracket (I highly suggest making your own, I just didn't trust the one provided) I am very pleased about mine, and suggest it to anyone who is interested in a low cost mod.

yes, I have done this on many vehicles (and had them dyno'ed) and have put different air filters and induction systems on... What would you like to know? what are you hoping for from removing the snorkel?   Neil
