I posted this once already and didn't get a response i figured i would post
it again and see if i could get some help thanks


Ok here is the deal i recently got a 98 silver GT the alarm system will not
engage it self it will lock and unlock the doors it will go off when hitting
the panic button it will pop open the trunk it will chirp just like the alarm
is set but it never does and theft light never illuminates in car neither
this is also a factory alarm by the way can anyone help thanks

He is right...when you press your "lock" function and the horn honks, that's just the car telling you it's locked, nothing else. If you actually had a factory alarm, the dash light would glow notifying you that it was armed. Look at the brackets (already mentioned) and if they are empty you have no alarm.
