Tim,
Sounds like your alternator belt is loose. Check the tension on the belt by
trying to press it with your finger (I know, it's a tight fit). The belt
should deflect not more than 1 inch.
If it deflects more than that, you'll need to tighten the belt (assuming the
belt is the correct length). You do that by loosening the alternator
fasteners, then use the adjuster to move the alternator away from the
engine. It's really tight in there, so it helps to have small hands (I
don't).
If the belt is tight, you may have some contaminants on the engine and/or
alternator pulleys which you'll have to clean off.
