Ok, i recently replaced my alternator and battery because we had thought the alternator was no good. So after the brought the old alternator back to the alternator shop, they tested it and told us that the old alternator was working perfectly normal and that we have another problem somewhere. Now with the new alternator installed, the battery still wont take a charge. We took the car to the dealership and they told us the alternator was only putting out 12V's when its supposed to put out 13.8/14V's. Has anyone had a problem like this before? Figured there was a short in one of the wires somewhere because when we installed the new battery, the car only lasted for about 20-30 mins before it died and a brand new battery should have alot longer life span than that, especially with radio/ac/headlights all turned off. Anyone have any suggestions? I cant figure it out, and dealership said they wont look at it until it gets a new alternator that puts out 14V's. I know if i replace it again, the new one will still do the same thing as the other 2 i had before. Please help. Need to fix my car asap. Thanks, Chris.
