Probably should go with a 60 amp fuse. Michael

If its a fuse by the battery I would go with the biggest size fuse the power could safely handle, that ones to make sure you don't have a fire. If its one by your amp to help protect from the amp over drawing it self and to make it easy to disconnect power to it, it should be about the same size as what the manufacture suggests or is hooked into your amp. And if it's in the amp or the amp doesn't have a fuse and you need to fuse it go strictly with the manufactures suggested size unless your competing with it and your not as concerned with how long it lives but how much power you can get out of it. Not all amps are equal and I don't think I would even guess at a fuse size without know who makes it or it's model #.

Just do the math ... (800-watts) divided by (12-volts) = 66.7 amps But they don't make 12-volt fuses this large so just put several smaller ones together in parallel or buy a 12-volt circuit breaker. -Lino Sacman, SCPOC '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd >what kind of fuse do i need between the battery and an 800 watt amp? > >Thanx in advance, >Ralph > >

Actually you can go to your local stereo shop and get a fuse block and the correct fuses there. I have a 80 amp fuse in mine. Keith 96SE
