Can someone give me info or maybe a site that explains from which cars were our 4-cyl engines are based? I know the Probe GT's 6-cyl engine is based on the Mazda 626/MX-6. How about our 4-cyl engine (Miata based)? I'm trying to find out because I've seen some very nice superchargers made by Sebring that are made to bolt onto Miata engines that have some very decent and proven power gains. I was wondering if these could be used in our 4-cyl Probes as well. Anybody know? -Lino Sacman

Check out this page. There is a small section that talks about the 'FS' 2.0L engine in the 93+ MX6/626/Probe. Its a pretty good read, and I emailed the author. I asked him would headers made for the Miata work on the 2.0L engine. He told me that the ports are shaped differently, and the bolt spacing may also be different. Hope this helps!
