In my search for an enigne I want to make sure that there are no 302 engines that are not compatible with our Broncos. Any horror stories or regrets?

No one has answered you so I may as well. To my knowledge any 289, 302 or 351 Ford engine will fit a Bronco. I'd stay away from the newer fuel injected ones, they can get pretty hairy to install and wire - and you need to change all the fuel lines and use an electric fuel pump.

Yeah, the heads are taller on the 351 so you'd need to modify the exhaust header pipes. Also the 351 will require a special oil pan - one from a bronco 302 won't swap. A four core radiator will handle the 351 cooling just fine. I suppose all the fuel injection stuff could be stripped from a newer engine and replaced with a carb. Being a carb guy that's what I would do.
