Dropping a V-8 into a truck set up for a 2.3 140 CI engine with 2.73 gears, doesnt sound like it will work..besides..those 215 r 14 tires would be bald in a matter of two days with all that added power...would a supercharger be recommended on a stock 2.3 with 78,000 miles...how much stress would that cause the already 11 year old motor????? thanks for your impute

Sorry about your Cherokee. As for your Ranger. You can alwas upgrade the wheels. You have the five lug pattern if I'm correct. The 15" off of any Ranger 5-lug will fit. As for the performance... What motor and what do you want it to do? A K&N air filter kit will help, Mass Air Flow meter, computer chip of course (www.superchips.com), headers, etc. It all depends on what you want to get out of the truck and of course how much you want to spend..

You can also check out www.FordRanger.com, a discussion group dedicated to Ranger performance.

Thanks for the advice parrot... I will use your info for the upgrade on the tires...not sure yet about the engine as to how big it is or anything..havent had much time with dealign with the insurance company etc... I used to work as a auto service tech a few years ago so, your ideas about the performance makes sense...thanks once again!!
