Doug, No, they are rather easy. Here is what you need:   Brake replacement Replacement brakes (of course) try the higher end brakes (rivetless) If needed. A bottle of break fluid. (splurge and get the big bottle for 1.00 extra) 1 man break bleeder kit (AutoZone, carport etc) C clamp or a break cylinder tool (explained later) Take off the tire and remove the bolt or keeper (on 91 I think its a keeper) it will push out easy if you use a huge screwdriver or your 3/8" extension. Push the keepers out the back remove the calipers. Use the C clamp to squeeze the caliper cylinder back into the caliper (you'll know when to stop) replace the brakes put em back on and put the keepers back on. Really easy.   If your not having rubbery braking you don't need to bleed the brakes., but take the time every other brake replacement to use the one man bleeder and bleed the brakes (ask if you want to know the best way) a little to see the color of the fluid. Black fluid (bleed them until it goes clear or looks like the new fluid) If you reservoir is dark gray or black fluid, go ahead and flush the entire thing.   If your having caliper problems, it is easier sometimes just to replace the calipers.   Brake caliper rebuild (this is extensive) If you want this option, please ask. I'm not going to detail this one unless necessary.   Caliper replacement The same as the break replacement except Make DAM sure your bleed the calipers out. A note about rotors. If they have some grooves in them, (faint) they don't need replaced. Hundreds of people replace their rotors, needlessly for groves. If they are large grooves, this will reduce the contact surface. Faint grooves, the brakes will quickly conform, and this does NOT wear brakes out.   I have wore out several cars with my commuting, and I can promise you this. If you have the cash though, don't be cheap.   If they appear to have a lot of cracks in them, they may need to be replaced. If they are warped, they need replaced. How can you tell if they are warped? Put the brakes back on the vehicle, and turn the rotor and you will hear a scuff.....scuff....sound. I think you will be able to tell. Faint warpage isn't to bad. Isn't good either.

I'd add two things to Chris's list of items to do: 1) either open the brake bleeder screw or remove the resevoir cap so when you push the piston in the fluid has somewhere to go. 2) Use brake caliper grease on the caliper slide contacts. Lack of this is what causes the brakes pads to wear unevenly and excessively. M.
