The ONLY complaint I have ever had with my beloved aero is that you can not close the hatch properly if the van is not on level ground. The frame torques.

I've had exact same problem with my '96 aerostar. on mine, the latch will not latch, even if you try to trip the latch fingers by hand. If you repeatedly slam the hatch, the internals get back in phase and will then latch. take off the upholstery from the bottom of the hatch. There's a vertical rod that goes up from the latch to the key. If it doesn't finish it's travel, the latch won't latch. wd 40 every year or so. > Hello I'm new to this group I just bought a 91 aerostar and the > hatch won't latch it it feels kind of like the hatch is not adjusted > right.
