I looked at Autotap webpage again to see if they have their AT2 availible. Its now listed for sale at $249 (they told me June 18 before, ill email again). Its supposed to work with 96-up Ford, Lincoln's and any car that uses the SAE J1850 PWM OBD II signal standard. I talked with them before and they said it should work with both 2.0 and 2.5 engines, but to check the OBDII connection to be sure. Just wanted to let people know that its out there, could easily pay for itself with 5 uses to check CEL codes. Gives lots of information in real time. Its not a genuine Ford scan tool, but it gives enough information to be extremely helpful. I plan on getting one if it works. Check it out. http://www.autotap.com/autotap.html Dedric Ramsey dedric@...

Dedric, Please let us know what you find out regarding the availability of the "ford unit" and also whether our cars are equipped with the correct port. I am so excited out this little scanner tool, that I have in fact been looking for a cheap used 486 or pentium I notebook computer, so I can start datalogging my events. So if anyone out there is selling an old notebook computer for around $200, max $300, then drop me an email. 8-) Thanks, Bryan Pendleton >

I was curious how we can read our own ECU codes on the 93+ probe SE's. I read on other pages that you can create a loop between the GND and the TEN slots in the Diagnostic case on the GT's. i tried that on the SE and I had no success.

I was thinking about this today while I was in class. Im seriously thinking about getting a Probe SE, and if its not a 96+, how can I read the codes. Im going to look around to see what I can find. But if I get a 96, at least when I get the Autotap I can use it on three cars instead of the two now, therefore avoiding having two scanners, one for a 93-95 and the other for two 96's.
