Has anyone ever changed them. I looks like it will be a very tough and long Job. My terminal connectors are broken and are not working very well.

Yeah I had mine changed. But I took it to a shop to have it done. Charged me $65 dollars. It only took the shop about 3-4 hours to do it. So one afternoon was all it took. Chris,

i've changed them on a Camaro before took me about an hour, shouldn't be much harder on the Probe. negative i think just goes to ground and positive cable goes to the starter solenoid, probably save you $50 doing it yourself just buy the new cables

all i did to "replace" the terminals, being as i saw the same perdicament as you, was take the old ends and flatten them and with aftermarket ones, clamp them tight in...havnt had any problems and it actually made system installation and such easier...  :-)

Best way to get the original terminals off is to use a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel. Just cut deep enough so you can remove the crimped part; don't cut too deeply, or you'll damage the cable. I replaced mine with a gold-plated terminal - supposed to get better conductivity. Took about an hour to do this. >

i didnt take my ends off, even easier.  i used pliers to break about 1/2 of the factory end off, then flatened the other out so that it would fit in the clamping part, and clamped it tight as hell, then attached it to the battery...took me less than 5 minutes for both terminals.  simple and effective....plus whenever u have aftermarket wires to run ( foglights, system, etc etc) you run it and clamp it where the factory end gets clamped to the aftermarket unit, it gets tighter than it would normally, it has a better surface contact area and is much less of a pain in the ass to hookup.  good luck...
