I just replaced my battery and my alternator is only a year old. But my battery guage constantly flucuates. What is the problem. Would it be a good idea to replace the battery cables. Any ideas would really help. Thanks Chris, '96 SE some mods

Define fluctuates -- Mine did a little bit when I had my brakes + blinkers on when my stereo was going -- but then I put a 180A hot/220 A cold alternator in and it cleared it up :)   -Jaime

Check all your connections in the charging system, clean your terminals, ect. before you buy new parts and start putting them on. You can also take your battery to most parts stores and they will usually fast-charge it for you so you can see if it will hold a charge or not. That may be a start. Also, any aftermarket stereo stuff, neons and things could be culprits as well. >
