My bed of my '64 is rust out along the upper end and I have decided I am going to replace it with a wooden floor bed. I came up with an idea and posted a diagram of it in the modifications folder of the Photos. I have already received some good ideas on it from the slick 60s group, but wanted to see if any of you had tried something like this. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care,

Mike

Mike,

I don't know if you remember or not, but one of the guys over in the slick 60's used the bedfloor from a late model (89 or 90) and welded everything up. Looked sharp too.

Justa thought.

Hotrodford_88,

Thanks for the response. I must have joined up after that post. Never did get a chance to run back through all of the post. Thanks. That may be a great solution. My welding skills are nil, but I know a fella that will do it for me and he does a fairly good job. I found a guy wanting to sell his Lincoln wire welder fairly cheap, but shyed away for fear of making matter worse for my truck. Thanks again,

Mike

Hey no prob, look under Dougs truck over at slick 60's. His is a 61 F-250, but the bed looks sharp!

Hey, don't worry about welding skills. Mine aren't that great either! But I am trying to learn. I am trying to get my dad to teach me, since he's been doing it forever, and he has got to have one ancient Forney stick welder. This thing has got to weigh 100-150 pounds, Not to mention about 2 feet square at the top, and 3 or 3 1/2 feet tall. With multiple plug outlets on the front, to change the voltage, or whatever.

But it still works like a champ. And will weld just about any steel you put in front of it.
