My Sport Trac got hit with its first bird poop today. I washed it off with water, but I had no idea how long it might have been there, and I think I left a little permanent dull spot. If Ford's clear coat/paint is thin (I don't know that for a fact), I'm worried about using any kind of polish on it. Maybe just wash and wax the car thoroughly?

Also, has anybody tried a liquid product called Poop-Off? I see it advertised a lot on the Web.

Depending on how long it was on there, there may or may not be any damage.

You can try Meguiar's Deep crystal paint cleaner (part of their 3 step) to see it that would help, but always get the offensive bird bomb off as quickly as possible.

Always try to keep a good layer of either Wax or sealant on the surface, that always helps.

I have never had this problem with bird poop. Maybe I have been lucky enough to get it before it has been on to long. I didn't know that they made a product called Poop-off so I am not sure how it work?

I just looked this product up and I could use this myself. I have a bird and this would help with cleaning the poop out of the cage. The reviews I seen of the product were all pretty good.

You're best defence in the future is going to be giving the car a good wax when you wash it to prevent the mess from getting to the paint.

We have a huge bird lives in one of our trees that seems to save it all up till it sees my partner clean the cars at the weekends w00t.gif

I try & avoid parking under the trees where I can as we get so much pollen falling from the pines. It coats everything & as soon as it gets damp in either rain or morning dew it sets hard as anything.

We used to have this problem with a tree over our driveway and we would constantly get bird poop on the car. We have since cut the try down and that has helped the situation a lot.

Oh trust me, I know. My car gets so icky looking during the summer, but unfortunately there is no where to park in the driveway without being under a tree. I also have a little squirrel that likes to throw nuts down on the vehicles too. LOL
