well i guess the black smoke from the exhaust is not normal after all today the black smoke changed to white smoke all over the place  engine has blown so now what am i looking at spending  just spent 5 grand on the van 2 months ago  who has good sugjestions on a remaned engine  please let me know  thanks  mark

Disregard my earlier response... Sorry for your misfortune. Ford also put the 3.0 into the Ranger pickups, go to your local junkemup yard and do some dealing on a low mileage engine. You should be able to come across one pretty cheap due to everyone wanting more getup and go than what the 3.0 will do. I just bought a 4.0 complete top to bottom for 400 for my sons Explorer. If you'd rather get a remanufactured one Jasper engines is the place to go. Pricy but worth it.
