The shift selonoid block assembly is an aluminum block with switches and god
knows what in it. It makes the tranny shift, it has a 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and
converter lockout selonoid all together. You can look at the top of the
tranny towards the front and the bundle of wires going into it is the wires
for the selenoids. It's easy to install, go to NAPA (the only place i found
it other than ford) and get them to find it for you and order a pan gasket.
It takes about an hour to install and its very, very easy. I put one in mine
and got 14,000 more miles out of my tranny but it finally went "kaput" at
118,000 miles for me.
