hi anyone had trouble with the heater blower motor system. blower won't run-check most of the components.

Not sure what caused the problem, but I do know they had some kind of recall on the blower motors. Mine decided to catch fire for no reason one day and the dealership told me nothing was wrong with the car...as it sat smoking from the electrical fire under the dash. When they stopped feeding me the "nothing's wrong, go away dumb woman" BS and actually looked, they did replace the blower motor. Good luck, check the official contour website for blower motor recalls.

Well, as luck(sic) would have it, my blower started smoking this weekend. I am going to take it in today to be replaced. The smoking only occured with the fan operating at any speed other than "HI". My assumption, without benefit of wiring diagrams, is that the resistor assembly controlling the lower fan speeds developed a short and smoked the wires. I will post more on this when the fan is repaired. A burned wire on your fan motor, if it is the power wire, could cause your problem.
