I have a 1978 mustang II, are the front body parts the same from 1974-1978? I want to use a hood, fenders, front bumper and doors off a 1974. Will this work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The hood, nose piece and grill from a 1974 will not fit anything else. The doors, bumpers, and fenders should. The 1974 bumpers have chrome strips where you have a black one with small white strips.

I thought the 74 header panel with the grill could be installed on the later models. I know the hood is different, but I've seen the 74 header panel installed on a 78 before and it looks pretty good. The 74 grill is recessed about 1 inch and has a different bolting arrangement than the 75-78 grill, so you have to have the header panel to do it.

Other then the header panel, hood, and grill youll need the metal cross bracing behind the header panel too, the 75-78 was formed different making the engine compartment 3 inches shorter.
The one u may have seen might have had hood pins, and the cross brace cut out. If ya need more info lemme know. I own a 74 that I put a V-8 in.
Mike
