I'm looking into upgrading my brakes pretty soon. Has anybody upgraded their brakes (ie. rotors, pads, calipers, lines)? If you have what did you use and how did it work for you? I've always thought that the brakes on my '93 PSE were kinda on the wimpy side. Disc up in front but only drums in the back...and no ABS. I would notice BRAKE FADE near the bottom of the run down a few large hills, locally, where the posted downhill speeds are only 35mph. -Lino Sacman

Regarding the drums to disc brakes conversion: I researched this topic some time ago as I had an opportunity to pick up the neccessary parts for the conversion at a salvage yard for about $250-$300. For the rear of the car you need the spindles, rotors, calipers, and I believe you need the connecting brack lines. The spindles simply bolt to the existing suspension component, then slap the rotor on, and the spindle has the appropriate mounts for the caliper. As for the brake line, I am not quit sure, but I believe you need the lines too. As for the master cylinder, I checked all through my technical service manual and found no indication the that the master cylinders were different. If you do pick up used calipers, make sure you get newer ones, not the 93 models or early 94's as these were the years they would lock up, I believe. Enjoy, Bryan Pendleton >
