Hi,

I've installed many audio systems in Probes including my very own Probe. I completely took out the whole factory system and put in upgraded aftermarket(amps, speakers, subwoofer & head unit).  I was also moderated the Car Audio & Stereo forum on ProbeTalk for several years.  What would you like to know?

I'd like to know what kind of sub box is better, a smaller on or bigger one.  I custom made mine and it stretches from panel to panel* against the back of the back seat in my probe.  I believe I made it (length*)*13*13 ((L*w*h)).  I have Two 10's running off a a 400w. amp.  I listened to a guy's two tens with a box just big enough to have them fit and it sounded a little louder and deeper.  He had a 250w. amp.

smaller boxes hit harder...the smaller the chamber for bass, the louder it resonates, the harder it hits, etc.  mine stretched from panel to panel as well but with 800 watts didnt make much of a difference.    there ya go...hope i helped make ya a little louder...

Clinton, I had the head unit replaced with a JVC and a bass tube, with a built in amp, placed in the rear cargo area. I didn't change the electrical system at all and I've had no problems, other than an occassional annoying hum from the amp/tube - this is likely due to a bad ground somewhere and not any electrical system issues. I've got a 760w. that is messed up right now. I 'm hoping to get it fixed so I guess that'll help out a lot.  I wish I would have known that when I was making it.  At least it doesn't slide around back there.  Thanks man.

My bass tube is a 10" but I'm not sure of the amp size. Regardless it sounds great although I wouldn't recommend it if you want to be heard coming from any great distance away... Hey Jeremy, what were you asking for that bolt on intake? Where exactly did it bolt on to? Chris > >
