I want to put an upgraded performance chip in my '96 T-bird. From what I have found on the net either Fordchip or Inject-tech are the best. Problem is I can't find out how to order an Inject-tech, or a site to read up more on it. Anyone had any luck or experience with either? Which is the best way to go? Do either offer reburns (preferably free) when you upgrade, or send in dyno results?

FordChip (http://www.fordchip.com), RFF Performance (http://www.rffperformance.com) and Reinhart Automotive(http://www.reinhartautomotive.com) all offer the same burn as InjectTech. All offer reburns, none are free.

Which chip manufacturer claimed 25% gain in hp? Becareful when looking at those claims from the chip manufactures about power gains using their chips. A gain of about 5 to 8 hp (at best) is more realistic for our 2.0L cars. -Lino Sacman

I think it will make a little difference but not a big difference. Maybe a little difference will be enough to get you over the top. You have to go up a grade in gasoline so your gas will be a little more expensive. You can get a chip that you can switch back and forth. With that chip when your in the dity and don't need the extra power you can have it off and use regular gas and then when you tow, turn the chip on and get the higher grade gas. http://www.autotrucktoys.com/stores/showdetl.cfm? &DID=8&Product_ID=2964&CATID=14 Just a thought. The link for the chip should be: http://www.autotrucktoys.com/stores/showdetl.cfm? &DID=8&Product_ID=2964&CATID=14 If that doesn't work go to http://escapeparts.com and choose Engine and Driveline, then chips, then look at the Kenne Bell Chip. Gary

Chris Johnson from Johnson Motorsports (www.jmschip.com) seems pretty respectable (treated me good anyway) and he will send you a couple of different combo's to try if you want. If your car is stock you probably could just increase your timing and get the same results. Just my thoughts, Sandy >

Houston Performence probably has the best price, better than mags & catalogs & no shipping, he's local. As for which is best, I don't know, ask Steve @ the above business.281-893-6080

That may be true Sandy, but if he has a auto trans, the chip will improve shift points as well. marc

That is true, I also have and AOD-E and it certainly does improve the shifting. I installed/changed a lot of stuff at the same time so I didn't necessarily see the benefits of any individual part. But the car felt completely different in the shifting department after the mods, which included the Chip. Sandy >
