I hear a clicking sound in the back end of my 2002 Explorer. It seems to happen when I go over a small bump or uneven pavement. Any ideas?
Also, my fuel cap light is on, I have replace the cap (with a ford replacement) and the light will not go off. I reset it and completed the "two drive cycles" and it's still on.
One more thing, has anyone ever noticed a second set or type of break system on the rear end of their explorer? I had someone tell me that I had a second system and that it needed replaced. Sounds fishy to me, thought I would see what you all thought. Thanks for any help or advice! Melissa

I would guess that the clicking noise you mention is either the shock absorber showing signs of wear or possibly the exhaust has come loose and it vibrates when you go over a bump. There are two possibilities why the warning light is still on, either the new part is not quite fitted correctly or the warning light sensor needs replacing. I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your last question.

Can you pinpoint exactly where the clicking noise is coming from? That might help. And the 2 problems you mentioned may not be related so make sure you mention both when you get it checked out.
