have a 94 w/130,000 miles, sometimes when going to reverse i'm getting a clunk, slam feel out of the rearend area thought it was the shocks since all is orig. but they were actually still in good shape? so anyone know anything about these drive shafts i'm assuming they are the cv type that are on front wheel drive cars,or should i look into the ring and pinion area? this doesn't happen all the time so trouble shooting has been tough.

Sounds like a bad differential mount or bad tranny mount to me. It could also be bad U-joints on the actual driveshaft (Not the half shafts). Get under there and see if the diff moves or if the tranny mount has leaked all the fluid that was in it all over the cross member.
