Hey manuel owners! I have a 2001 ZX3, and after a few times racing at the local street races here in Sun Valley, CA. I feel the clutch needs adjusting. Someone told me that there is no adjustment on this Ford! Is this true? Should I just invest in an Turbo Clutch Stage 1 or what? Seeing as the repair manuel is still unavailable at aftermarket stores and I am not ready to spend $55.00 on a book, that will only be $20.00 in a few months. Besides that is $55.oo more dollars towards the short throw shifter to go with my Eibach 1.5 lowered on 17" Chrome Koky's handling 215/35 series Faulkens, a Ractive cold air intake system, a special Glass-Pac Exhaust, and hot looking limo-black tinted windows with custom glass etching done by "Lyne Baiz" on them - advertising the FORD SPORT FOCUS ZX3. I will have a few pictures on line soon....so be looking for my bright Egg Yolk Yellow ride. Most do not believe in a "girl" car driver, let alone one that is building up her own street racer. Come on out to Sun Valley, and we will run your ride to mine just for fun...you can judge for yourself

Hi there! I've had 2 ZX3's both with manual tranny's and don't know of any clutch adjustment. Its a hydraulic activation system. You may find some pedal adjustment but I think thats it. Del

Hey Del, Just to let you know, yes there is an adjustment. However, it is adjusted by bleeding the hydrlic clutch system! After having 2 ZX3's you might wnat to have that info for future use so no one takes you for a ZX3 owner with no clue!

Bleeding the clutch system is exactly what you do when you put it together the first time or replace a component in the clutch hydraulic system. Done correctly the first time and providing the system does'nt fail, no further maintenance or adjustment is needed other than periodic fluid replacement which most owners don't do. fordfocuszx3@y...,

One more thing Aunty, the only true adjustment on the entire clutch is the clutch pedal height and clutch pedal free play. The manufacturer's manual specifically states "Clutch is automatically adjusted and requires no adjustment". If you would like to know how to adjust your pedal correctly just drop me a line and I'll send the info to you.

Well, alrighty then! I got the Manuel CD-ROM, and it clearly states under "clutch adjustment" the bleeding procedure; but, I would gladly accept your info too! Too much knowledge is never a bad thing!!!
