i atempted to do this but 1 of the tubes must not be right becaus eit wants to stall. i wonder if its the tube that goes in the hole ontop the intak because i was thinking mabee the ruber on the tube blocks it, or mabee the 2nd tube farther down is pinched or not big enough ? please help "Brian G. If it's stalling it's definately the one near the Throttle body as that is the Idle Air Bypass. Make sure it did not become disconnected from the back of the intake (between the intake and firewall) and check that the rubber end that was put into the stock rubber fitting isn't blocking that hole. I put mine in the wide part and clamped it down tight, making sure the wide part didn't come out of the hose clamp. >

That doesn't sound like a cold air intake at all, more like a K&N type FIPK kit. If you are simply putting a filter on the MAF you are getting more air, which is good, but it is still HOT air from under the hood. If you want a true cold air intake the air source need to be from outside the engine compartment, MAC performance makes a nce one with a polished metal tube, last I checked it was like $179, also MN-12 makes one a little cheaper that one still uses your stock box, but replaces the air silancer with an elbow which you mount the filter to. In either case the filter is under the car protected by the bumper cover. kwjs12

The MAC kit doesn't fit 94-95's and I wouldn't use it even if it did since it has a huge 90degree bend right in front of the MAF to throw off the transfer function and screw up what the EEC thinks it's getting. You can make the MN12 kit yourself on a 94-97 4.6L since the first part of the air silencer is just like the "elbow" just strap the filter on it, get some double sided foam tape and seal your airbox then get ready to clean your filter more often, and now it's in a location that rivals our oil filter when you need to clean it, and be careful around water because hydro-lock is bad for your engine.
