I know how to change coolant, but are there any specifics to the 2.0L engine? I want to make sure I get the most coolant out as possible. The instructions on Julians site are good, but they are for the 2.5L engine. He says that the basic steps are the same though. Thanks. Dedric Ramsey dedric@...

Update on the coolant flush. The coolant was REAL dark. It didnt have any rust or anything in it, but I dont think Ive ever seen a car with coolant this dark. The car only has 40k or so miles on it, and its only 3 years old (In march). We only got the coolant in the radiator out, flushed water through 4 times, about 3 to 3.5 liters out each time. We still havent figured out a good way to get the coolant out of the block without undoing hoses, so we are going to flush again next week. Ill have to hit the library for details on the block, unless someone knows how to do this on the 2.0L. So far the engine temp is actually a bit below its usual spot, I think it was on the O in Normal. The hoses are in pretty good shape so those stay for now, even though I think we should replace them and the thermostat too, right now. Dedric Ramsey dedric@...

This is a 93? o I'd just replace your upper radiator hose now, and any oil-to-water cooler hoses if the car has them. If you don't have them, just change your coolant annually (and that in the reservoir). Check coolant:water ratio with a coolant hygrometer (5$) as it is not too easy to get these cars right by measuring. o Re dark-coolant, sounds just old. The heater-core is aluminium on these cars, so should last an extremely long time with care. -- J. www.ergonite.demon.co.uk/probemx/index.htm
